3MF Semantic Guard

Edit 3MF geometry while tracking project data.

Inspect 3MF colors, materials, transforms, components, and extensions before editing. Know what is preserved, recomputed, or unsupported before export.

Expected outcomeA 3MF workflow that reports preserved, changed, and unsupported project data.

Operation review

Checks included in this workflow.

Meshworthy shows the affected geometry, applies the selected constraints, and checks the exported result. Limitations remain visible when a result requires manual review.

01

Semantic inventory

See colors, materials, transforms, components, and slicer-specific project data.

02

Loss disclosure

Meshworthy tells you what an operation can preserve before it changes the model.

03

Required extension handling

An unsupported required extension blocks the operation and remains visible in the report.

04

Round-trip check

Exported semantics are compared against the promises shown before the edit.

Controlled operations

Review changes before applying them.

Each workflow identifies the affected geometry, applies relevant constraints, compares the result, and validates the exported file.

01Detect

Locate the exact geometry and explain why it matters.

02Constrain

Protect intent, scale, file semantics, and printer limits.

03Compare

Preview measurable changes before applying them.

04Verify

Re-open the export and check every promised result.

Understand the problem

Why 3MF colors disappear after editing.

Trace color loss to triangle remapping, representation conversion, partial support, or export. Then verify the file saved to disk.

Product questions

About 3mf semantic guard.

Does Meshworthy preserve painted 3MF colors?+

Meshworthy inventories supported paint and material data, preserves what the chosen operation supports, and warns before any known loss.

Why is 3MF harder than STL?+

A 3MF package can contain units, transforms, components, colors, textures, materials, and private slicer extensions in addition to triangles.

What if an extension is unsupported?+

If it is required, Meshworthy stops. If it can be preserved safely as opaque data, the export report says so.
